Travis Milne pursues a number of outdoor activities and pastimes, all of which have made him environmentally aware. He’s a runner, hiker, skier and snowboarder.

1. What is the most challenging thing about going "green"?

The most challenging thing about going "green" is the initial transitions that will have to take place in order to become more environmentally friendly. It's tough because we are used to dated ways of running our house, transportation, and businesses. However once the transition occurs from mean to green, all the benefits will quickly pay off.

2. How has My Green House impacted your life?

I've learned that it's cool to be green, and it's not as hard as it looks. And hey, chicks really do dig my solar panels... who knew?

3. What is your favorite eco-friendly tip?

My favorite eco-friendly tip is a little something I call “latherer." This tip is cool because it's free to implement, and it's something you can try tomorrow morning in the shower. Instead of letting the water run consistently in the shower as you are trying to clean up for the day, just simple get totally soaked in the shower and then once you are, turn it off. Then lather up from head to toe, and once you are completely scrubbed up turn the shower back on rinse off, and condition if necessary. This is much better then letting the water run the entire time because a lot of that water is wasted.

4. What is one green change you have made in your life?

One big green change that I've made is making a much larger effort to recycle. Everything…cardboard, plastics, metals and all other pieces of non-biodegradable waste that can hurt the earth if not disposed of properly.

5. Why is being eco-friendly important to you?

We've only got one world, let's start loving and cherishing it a little more.
