Cleaning Products - Around the House

Think about it. If it’s not safe for us to drink, why would we use it to clean surfaces that we prepare food on? Mix baking soda or vinegar with warm water and you have a great all purpose cleaner that is non-toxic and eco friendly.

If you must use these toxic cleaning chemicals, you should wear gloves, masks, open up the windows, and turn on the exhaust fans.

Our cleaning appliances take up a lot of energy. Make sure you have energy efficient washers, dryers and dishwashers.

There are many widely available detergents in the market that are biodegradable and non-toxic. Everything from dishwasher detergent to laundry detergent has to go somewhere. Wouldn’t you rather it be something that you know will disappear? This is good for the environment, even better for your health.

If you have a musty odour in the house, you have too many moulds growing in it. Try to find it and remove the moulds. It may mean you have a leak that will only become worst later on. Moulds can also affect your health, so better to get rid of them before they get rid of you!

Having company over and want your house to smell inviting? Try boiling all natural air fresheners like vanilla beans or pine needles, or better yet, bake some cookies or muffins. Yummy!
